A Gazette published yesterday contains the names of 27,104 men who have been called up for Territorial service. They comprise all the men in the first division of the General Reserve and four classes of the second division. Those in the first division are chiefly youths who have reached the age of 18 since the last list was issued; and those in the second division comprise all married men. without children, from 18 to 45 years of age. The Gazette contains the note that the list includes the names of a number of men who have volunteered for service overseas and of some who are already serving in Home Defence units. The following are the numbers of men called up from the respective military areas:—No. 1 (Auckland), 5566; No. 2 (Paeroa), 1308; No. 3 (Whangarei), 963; No. 4 (Hamilton), 1422, No. 5 (Wellington), 4112; No. 6 (Wanganui), 1705; No. 7 (Napier), 1877; No. 8 (New Plymouth), 1006; No. 9 (Nelson). 1395; No. 10 (Christchurch), 4211; No. 11 (Dunedin), 2126: No. 12 (Invercargill), 1413.
